Big Nate’s journey in combat sports started as a fan attending events, but it didn’t take long before he stepped behind the scenes and became a driving force in the Northwest fight scene. He went on to own and operate Northwest Warriors/Caged Warriors, working with standout fighters like Shorty “The Pitbull” Wikel, a multi-time 145 lb amateur MMA champion and three-time professional champion, along with Levi Wikel, Eli “Brass Balls” Paul, and many others.

After building strong relationships with fighters, Nate spent four years helping book talent and support events for promotions such as Budo Fights, Split Decision, and Midtown Throwdown. Following a difficult period in life, he stepped away from the industry for a few years.

Nate eventually returned to the fight world after connecting with Troy and Matt at Arena Wars. He quickly jumped in to help get the promotion back on track after COVID. When the matchmaker position opened up, Nate stepped in alongside Troy, and the two have been doing what they do best ever since—building fights and supporting the sport they love. 🥊

Troy Hafeli has spent over a decade working behind the scenes in combat sports as a matchmaker, promoter, and event coordinator. Starting with an internship in fighter relations and marketing with Throwdown, he built strong connections with fighters, teams, and sponsors across the West Coast fight scene.

He later played a key role in organizing events for multiple regional promotions and spent nearly 10 years helping run Arena Wars events, managing everything from matchmaking and fighter relations to logistics and event operations. Known for his deep industry relationships and hands-on approach, Troy has helped support and develop many rising fighters throughout the region. 🥊
